Volunteers play an important role in the ministry of the house. We are happy to welcome volunteers from all over the world. It is an enriching experience both for them and for us.
Their work focuses on three main areas:
Welcoming guests to Ecce Homo
Serving Meals in the Dining Room (preparation, setting of the tables, service, washing-up)
Welcoming pilgrim groups to the Lithostrotos
We ask that volunteers serve for thirty hours a week in exchange for their room & board. Sundays are always a day off and volunteers are given 2 - 3 days longer for sightseeing in the country.
Thus there are many opportunities for volunteers to get to know this special country and its peoples.
Normally, the volunteers stay tree months. To be able to speak English is a great help.
Through the Chemin Neuf Community, a program called JET (Jeunes à l'ETranger - Young people abroad) is proposed for a period of one month to one year.
